Josephinan Backer or Josie for short, is a tall, blond 15 year old girl whith bright green eyes, who lives during the Renaissance in England. She is a backers daughter and lives above the family bacarie. Josie loves to spend time with her best friend Daniella Black who is the daughter of the towns black smith, Daniella prefers to go by Danie. Josie and Danie spend most of their time taking care of Josies little siblings, Samule and Alisha who are twins, Britney, Kyle, and the babies Jackline and Jeffereson. Josie is a go getter who lives to go hores backe ridding, Danie and Josie both go to a barn in the medow south of their village, they both are exalent riders, but because they are girls, they cant take part in any competitions.
Josie struggles with two things in her life, one being that her father treats her like a child, when everyone else is out in the fields she is stuck home sowing, kniting or babysitting her 6 siblings which she does not enjoy at all, the other sruggle is that she has fallen in love with Prince Nickolas, who regretably for Josie, barely knows she exists, luckley Josie lives in the same town as Nickolas, and all the older girls and yong woman are invited to go to a ball at the palace, but Josies dad might not let her go, the one chance for Josie to dress up and impress the prince, her dad, as usual has the power to ruin it for her. "Danies parents are letting her go!" was her main back up to getting to go, Mr. Backer and Mr. Black are great friends and when Mr. Black would allow Danie to do something that he wasnt sure he would let Josie do, he usualy gave in, but this time he wasnt convinced that easily. it took days and days to convince him, but finaly after making her promis to be back befor 12 oclock and that she HAD to stay with Danie and under no cercomstances was she allowed to be seperated her. when the girls left at 5 to go to the ball, they had no idea what was going to happen... but alas it was magical.
